Vinyl is one of my favorite music formats, I listen to my albums as much as I can to help nurse my music bug.

I came up with my Top 5 vinyl albums that influence me the most, keep in mind this is my opinion for this post. Here they are:

  1. Bee Gees-Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack-If you grew up somewhere in the mid 1970s you most likely are familiar with the movie “Saturday Night Fever” that takes place in a dance club with a floor that is lit up. The characters dance the night away to the bands of ABBA and of course Bee Gees. “Stayin Alive” is most iconic for the group, I like the first cut as well from the album “Women in You”. Here is a link to buy from Amazon

2. Pink Floyd-“The Wall”-This is an album that marks a huge history in the times that were currently taking place regarding war. The three record set goes through track by track of the story of the concept of this theory. Buy here on Amazon.

3. Nickelback-“All the Right Reasons“-This one I have on two formats, vinyl and CD. The vinyl came out in 2017 on 180 gram. The original release hit shelves in 2005, “Far Away“ is my favorite single from this album. It has a smooth and calm feeling before hitting you at the chorus. Here it is on Amazon

4. Goo Goo Dolls-“Dizzy Up the Girl”-This came out in 1998 and celebrated an anniversary just last week. One of the band’s most charted singles “Iris” topped the charts just within a few months at number 22 on the U.S. Adult Alternative Charts. ”Name“ is an earlier single by a year from 1997’s “A Boy Named Goo” which is another popular favorite that had exposure in the group’s career. The vinyl copy is available here

5. The Police-Ghost in The Machine-Released in 1981 with the singles “Every little Thing She Does is Magic“ and “Invisible Sun” this album has a feel of a deep soft sound that is inviting to listeners to lure them into an album that makes one of the best 80s bands iconic. Lead singer Sting would later go and pursue a solo career. Here is a link to buy the vinyl.
