Amarillo College’s theater program will be hosting a play that has a storyline set in the early 20th century within a group of neighbors that each have a different viewpoint of life but in the process of agreeing they all have a certain degree of diversity on the different perspectives. The year 1916 is where this event will occur which happens not too long before our country enters World War I.

The title of this show is “Summer and Smoke” by Tennessee Williams and according to the press release AC will be honoring this performance as the second play to be recognized at the annual American College Theatre Festival. This will run for a full four days from December 7th through the 10th with three performances during the evening starting at 7:30 PM.  The last day will be matinee at 3 PM to wrap up the stretch.

Tickets for admission will be $10 for adults and $8 for children and AC employees. They will be available both in person and online with a group of 10 or more costing $6 for tickets purchased at least 24 hours in advance.

The performances will also include people who are understudies that memorize lines to play a particular part for one day. The community is invited to participate in this if interested in the career field of theatre arts.

For more information and to purchase tickets go to the AC Theatre website.
