Amarillo College is expanding it's curriculum to include a teaching certification that makes getting a career in the field of learning much easier for students as they move through the courses offered by the school. The objective of this new program focuses on making it easier for teachers to get a teaching license so they can go and spread knowledge of a subject and help tutor students when they need help on assignments. AC president Russell-Lowry Hart says this will help the college in a lot of ways especially in expanding staff at the different campuses around the panhandle.

The president also stated that this will help expand the number of programs available to prospective students upon enrollment in classes that are part of a particular major. This could be something taught by a professor that falls within something totally new that previous students never knew about.

The things I would like to see taught at AC range from many different things that may be available at WT but not AC. If the college got a grant to build a swimming pool I would like to see courses where swimming lessons are taught from novice all the way up to professional. This would be beneficial for people looking to further skills to become the next olympians or something similar like a lifeguard that dives in and administers CPR. A lot of things could happen in the near future with this new addition to the teaching program at Amarillo College.
Good luck to all of the faculty and staff.
