Amarillo Dealership Closes Doors

Amarillo has seen many car dealerships come and go over many years and recently one has decided to close it's doors at I-27 and Mccormick Road.

All Star Family Ford has stopped operating the location and the building has sat vacant for several months while trying to find a new owner to move a business into it. If you drive down this part of town you will see the property needs a lot of attention since the previous owners have not been there in a long while. It's not like it was driving down that part of the highway because the sign that used to be lit up is now dark and the parking lot sits empty with no vehicles to be sold. I remember seeing this place when it was open and it once had a decent number of cars for sale at a great price. The cool thing about this location was the fact that it's between the cities of Amarillo and Canyon so that made it to where people from both sides could easily visit the dealer and find a new ride for them or a family member.

Originally known as Ron Clark Ford the people who have ran this have shown a passionate vision for the auto industry and have worked to create the ability of bringing the Panhandle an automotive experience that will be looked back upon. If you go to the location today you will see a sign posted next to the hours informing customers to go and shop at Tri State Ford if they want to shop for vehicles. You might remember when that dealership on the I-40 and Ross location was called Gene Messer Ford. When I was growing up the commercials on TVhad a promo for pet adoption at a rescue shelter so staff had a big heart for helping the Panhandle family.

Hopefully this building won't stay vacant long. We'll see what the future holds
