Amazon Amarillo Plant Making Huge Orders Easier

Amazon has seen a tremendous growth in the number of facilities around America over the last several years with additions in cities which helps to provide consumers with an outlet for purchasing bulk items like beds or nightstands among other things that might need a lot of space to move around. Amarillo is the latest to get a new building to get these items to buyers quickly so they can skip delivery delays and have some parts of orders delivered in a two day stretch rather then waiting at least a week before shipping starts. Panhandle residents can make a purchase on Amazon and have the option of using local people who are nearby to help out with moving a heavy peice of furniture or peice of equipment into their homes. The way these buildings work is truck drivers who are carrying this fraight go to the home building and put the truck on a dock and from there workers sort out packages and can easily identify who and what a particular person ordered online or in some bigger cities in store. I pass by this on the loop and I see how many semi trucks are parked there and I bet there were at least five of them which is a decent size building for the city of Amarillo. Since the city doesn't have an actual store most customers will take to the internet and get what they need through there.

The facility is located north of town on loop 335 as you are heading to the cutoff on I-40 near Petro which is a great spot since there are other facilities that share the same business with each other. Potential employees will be drawn to this knowing that growth is occurring in the manufacturing industry around the Panhandle area. I am not in the truck driving business but I have seen how a semi is unloaded at a base in a warehouse since I work in retail. It's amazing some of the things you see on Amazon and other online stores and sometimes the stuff you buy has to be specifically placed in order for delivery to occur. Let's say a customer decides to buy a grill or an oven that has a lot of weight. The only way to get this to a house is through loading this up on a semi truck and taking it to a buyer's house and wheeling it in on special equipment.

This company has branched out to many things including a video and music streaming service so it's not a shock to see this business expanding to Amarillo. The job market will have a healthy turnout through young local teens finding a first job to make money to put gas in the car and pay rent at a residence. I have visited the website and the staff not only drives the trucks around but there's also a floor team that sorts out freight and puts boxes in the correct spots. These inside positions target the younger people while the older ones take care of delivery times. I would like to see a project in the future that brings a Amazon store with scan and go. Other retail giants like Walmart and Sam's Club have engaged in competition for this through shopper memberships.

Let's hope the Panhandle economy continues to grow through this in years to come. Our first Amazon plant is just the beginning.
