The City of Canyon has brought back a Summer tradition that has become a huge success on the downtown square through providing an outlet for fresh fruits and vegetables from local farmers who grow the crops on the field in the rural Texas Panhandle.

The event will take place every Saturday from 8AM to noon through the end of September which gives residents enough time to stock up on these healthy items to have throughout the season without having to worry about processed ingredients. If you have a garden at your house you have probably been to at least a couple farmer's market events in the past to get some insight on how to grow the different varieties in your yard.

The staff up at these events most likely have experience in the field of gardening and can help make the process easier through providing information on things like climate, soil type and ground conditions. For example some yards may have steep terrain and hills while others are completely flat in nature providing a more stable environment for water to be held in for a longer period of time without the possibility of runoff. I have a garden that is mostly flat at my house and the water has held in the soil quite well in the Spring and Summer months during warm temperatures.

Some types of fruits sold at this event include Apples and Bananas among other things fresh from local farmers that grow out on the fields which in turn makes this type of food a lot better than store bought.

If you want to go get some fresh produce grab some while you can.
