He is a well known Radio personality for people who are fans of 70s and 80s Rock music since he caters to this particular audience. His home studio during live recordings was based out of Los Angeles where he would host live shows and give shoutouts on the air which he is known to be famous for. He would make long distance dedication requests to people who are a long way from a loved one or serving overseas in the Armed Forces for our country keeping us all safe. In the 80s he had a very high rating of listenership that lasted for at least five years to a decade which made the famous jock who he is remembered as today. Kasem’s syndicated countdown show American Top 40 can be heard not just nationally but also around the world on radio stations in different countries. Having held both a national and international record for his show Casey would be considered a diverse DJ since his listeners can be not just in the United States but dedications from his audience can come from as far off as Australia or Guatemala. When he introduces songs he does this in a sort of history lesson type way telling his audience the background and a short story of the single and artist that he is about to play on the airwaves. When I listen to the shows he has done and study his craft he inspires me the most when I hear him tell his perspective on the story behind an album or a song because it gives me some good thoughts when plotting out my own style of good broadcasting.

Time progressed and Kasem eventually had an audience that not only listened on terrestrial radio but also gained a lot of streaming audiences that listen on the internet at his website. He had this long before retiring from his career and it is what took him to new heights even in certain countries he is not carried in a terrestrial fashion. He voiced numerous radio commercials for quite a few stations in his time as a broadcaster doing mostly nationwide companies. He has also voiced many TV commercials having to do with GM and other auto companies. Still to this day you can hear reruns of him from the past airings of AT40 and what I find cool is you can find out what the number one song on the program was in a certain year and date. For instance if you had a rerun from 1987 or 1976 you would be able to hear what song hit the top of the charts that particular year.

Hopefully radio markets and stream stations will keep his legacy living on throughout the years. Rock on Casey and keep reaching for the stars.
