The City of Canyon is hosting a fun family event coming up this weekend on December 4th. Join the Chamber for the annual Christmas in Canyon event happening on the square at 4th avenue. There will be lots of fun booths for both the kids and adults to get involved in including pictures with Santa and food trucks set out across the street. Feel free to participate in the pictures with the family or let your kid make a portrait of him or herself to have as a keepsake to take home with them.

When the air starts getting chilly you can warm up with a nice cup of hot chocolate catered by the Chamber while watching the parade go down 4th and watching the Texas train light up with beautiful colors to make the season bright for the holidays. You will be able to watch the CISD choir perform as well with different Christmas songs like “O Holy Night” and other well known hymns. The Texas train will make way down 4th around 6:30 PM on it’s way to the courthouse.

Sponsors in the light parade range from Canyon Lions Club and other local businesses around the city. I have seen tremendous growth in my hometown and am proud to see the economy booming in the community. The whole event will take place between the hours of 10AM-4PM and you can attend this for free without any cover or admission charge.

I would recommend getting there as early as possible to avoid the crowd pile up and parking being filled. I’m not for certain how many people expect to fill the square but I hope the Chamber has a great turnout.
