I am a George Strait fan through and through, growing up with him since childhood, there is a lot of history dating back to the start of his career in the early 80's.

One of his very first albums Ocean Front Property came out in 1986 when he was kicking off his career, you can check out the cover art below to see how young he was, it was one of his popular albums with the hit title track as well as "All my Exs live in Texas". For me growing up I got to be exposed to a lot of King George as Country made up a lot of my childhood as far as music, I can remember riding in the car with the radio up, and we would be going to the store or running errands. George ended up having at least 50 number ones and released an album to commemorate his work.

Growing up in Texas, he has always kept tradition alive even to this day, he was born in the small town of Poteet and raised on a farm near the town of Pearsall where he studied agriculture while going to school at Southwest Texas State University, after high school he decided to join the Armed Forces and while based in Hawaii he formed a

band called Rambling Country, the U.S. Army agreed to sponsor his band for his duration of service.

When I went to my grandparents house they had his 1982 album "Strait from the Heart" on vinyl and I played that record over and over, it's got some scratches from the wear it received but it's still able to be listened to, I take it out every chance I get. He has influenced my music choices for as long as I can remember, one of his most recent songs "Weight of the Badge" makes me think about how hard our first responders work to keep us safe in our communities, as I listen I think "These people put their lives on the lines, this song means a lot." King George has respect for the men and women in blue and I really like that about him.

I hope his music continues to influence listeners of this coming generation. I will keep listening for sure.
