History of the Autism Speaks Campaign and How it helps with Disabilities

The picture up top represents a piece of a puzzle for researchers as they learn more about the cause and treatment for the Disability known as Autism.

Symptoms of this include slower pace to process certain tasks, repetitive movements like rocking or spinning, and delay in speech skills. Autism Speaks started to help bring the community together and create fun events like 5K runs and walks to raise funds for the campaign, I have seen events like this happening in my community, it’s mostly walks around a park or track and I would really like to attend on of these functions in the near future.

Now there are different places on the spectrum people can be, it goes from severe to mild and I fall within the mild side as I can still have a connection with people it just takes me time to process what was said.

Autism does not mean you are incapable of making your dreams a reality it just shows that you are different, that is where Autism Speaks really makes an impact for the community of special needs.

My plan is to start giving to charity for this organization and start attending more events related to helping out with funds to find out more about how Autism affects people at different ages. Remember everyone has a place and every piece to the puzzle counts!!
