Happy 4th of July everyone!! I hope you all had a great holiday full of fun and celebration. as we honor our great country.

I thought I would share a little bit of history behind this day and how it relates to our founding fathers and then tell you what I did to celebrate. On July 4th 1776, the Declaration of Independence was signed into law making what was originally the 13 colonies one nation after we seceded from Great Britain, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson both played a vital role in ratifying the final version of this document stating we were no longer under control of the British Empire. Jefferson's original copy is on display at the Library of Congress. I haven't been there, it's in Washington DC, one of the things on my

bucket list.

So here is how I spent July 4th this year, I kicked it off by nursing my music bug with some Red Dirt music from the Randy Rogers Band, they sang their latest single Crazy People, which is receiving a lot of radio station airplay, I liked the way they used the lighting on the stage to set the mood, during one song I saw what looked like fireworks going off. Very fitting for the time of year, the show lasted until about 10 o'clock that night.

I got up the next morning and went to the Fair on the Square, I watched the parade at 10AM , if I had to choose my favorite vehicles they would range from classic cars to every TV and radio station van, at about 11:30 I went out to walk the square for about 10 or 15 minutes before going back home.

That night we had Hamburgers and sausage and I watched Macy's fireworks from New York on NBC, it's amazing to me when I see that show, of course you can't compare it to some other shows in smaller towns, I liked how they had rainbow colored ones, those were new this year.

Next year I hope to have as much fun as I did this year, it's one of my favorite holidays of the year.

I might even go to one of those TNT stands and get my own fireworks if we are in a wet season, I remember doing that at the lake one time and it was fun, I bought everything from blackcats to regular fireworks, we were able to set off at least 10 or 15 at one time.

So that's my July 4th this year, I hope you and your family had a great time as well, here is a picture of the stage I took while the concert was going on.
