I ordered a new Apple Watch for my mom’s birthday present most recently and I was pretty impressed with what I saw on the interface. It basically has the interface of an IPhone on your wrist by letting you take charge of the features without using the phone itself.
When I was setting it up it took roughly 30 minutes to an hour to get everything up and running on the IOS system, after that it asked for the ICloud credentials to connect the Apple account with the watch. The interface I saw was a mini wrist version of the phone capability with the option to upload your contacts and information after syncing with your account, different themes can be applied to the clock face or you can create your own custom design to match your style. When setting up it has you choose which arm you wear Apple Watch on so it can be calibrated to that side.

The watch doubles as a speaker phone with a built in microphone, you can tell Siri to call a family member or one of your friends with just your voice, this goes for finding information and driving directions so you can go hands free without having to pull your phone out. This feature is something I will take advantage of as a way to stay safe while on Interstates and public roadways. GPS points you in the direction of your destination and gives you the estimated arrival time for your convenience on road trips and will update you on current traffic conditions along your route.
This is a great Christmas present for someone who is looking to simplify interactions if they have a smartphone.
