You may have noticed when updating your iPhone recently that the Safari search bar has changed locations and is now at the bottom of your screen when you are visiting websites. This may be a little jarring to you if you are used to it being at the top so here is a hack that can restore this setting.

In your Safari app tap the double As at the side of the search bar and a menu will pop up giving you an option for bottom or top task bar. Tap this to toggle in between top and bottom search bar and switch it to the top to put it back where it was before the software update. If you update and find it better to search from the bottom of your screen the setting can be changed at anytime by toggling back and forth. When I got my update it was certainly different to find this at the bottom and it makes me wonder if Apple might be trying to compete with other platforms like Microsoft’s Windows Phone. Some operating systems don’t have the option to put your search engine at the top and I’m not sure if Windows has changed this in any updates recently since I haven’t had this platform in several years.

There is how to restore IPhone to default search in this new update.
