Just in time for the St. Patrick’s Day holiday in March McDonald’s will be bringing back a signature item for a limited time starting February 21st. It’s called the Shamrock Shake and it infuses whipped topping with cool mint pieces with classic vanilla ice cream soft serve. The restaurant chain has done this for over half a century years now but has never before released any secret ingredient of this seasonal item. If you go to the Twitter page there is currently a contest going on where you can get in on the action by entering a code to unlock hidden secrets.

In 2020 an Oreo version of the treat came out with the same ingredients combined with cookie crumbs. This new version puts a new twist on an old favorite that considers to be a staple at McDonald’s restaurants. I have honestly never had this frozen delight but in the future I might make time when in season. The McFlurry made a debut in 1998 so it’s been around for much less years then the Shamrock Shake.
