I have always had a love for dogs since I was born, I was around them for many years knowing the huge responsibility of caring for a pet.
My first pets that I can remember having are two black Labradors whenever I was still very young, then it moved from there to getting another smaller one in Christmas 2003, that one was given to me as sort of a house dog and we still had our big ones outside. I had to feed and water both of them everyday but I didn't mind because they were like family to me.
According to the American Kennel Club, Labradors are the best dogs to get if you are looking for a pet that is good with people and a neighborhood watcher as they have a strong since of smell that can track rodents and other animals that can be bad for a lawn or to have around your home. My chocolate lab that I had was named Harley and he would always strive to keep us safe in the wake of something unusual, I really loved him a lot, you could tell he was strong as ever and I loved that about him, he barked a lot but I kept him calm as much as possible to avoid distractions.
My grandparents on my side had a guard dog as well, it was a tan and black German Shepard, this breed is mostly trained to be a police K9 for tracking down evidence to let officers know of suspicious activity. My grandparents mostly kept their's around to keep intruders off of their property in case someone wants to break in and steal.
I hope that maybe sometime in the future I might get me another dog that is the smaller house kind where I can keep it inside, wish me luck on my new pet adventure.
