Amazon’s Echo device has advanced in many ways ever since the first generation came out at least a decade ago. From then on many skills have been added to the Alexa app that help with everyday things. An example for your smart home could be turning on the lights or the TV by voice command. I already do that with my device but here are some other skills that were recent this year.

Moen Smart Faucet-This allows you to control your compatible shower or kitchen faucet with just your voice. You have to do a little modification to your plumbing in order to install the control center. Imagine the technology of telling your smart device what temperature you want your morning shower to be. The future is here, all you need is a Moen account and the right accessories.

Smart Bulb-These devices are relatively new by a couple to four years and Alexa has had this skill since the technology came out. Later on we had the introduction of other features to make things more personalized for the user interface.

Remote for Smart TV-Controlling your TV with your voice makes changing the volume and even the channels with a simple command. This skill can be done by giving a task like “change the volume to 34” or “mute my TV”.

Those are skills that Alexa has been equipped with over the years. I hope they add more soon for smart home and device use.
