Next year has something big in store for smartphone users who use text message services.
I read an article recently regarding the big four cell phone companies AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and T Mobile unveiling a new technology called RCS(Rapid Communication Services),.by using this in place of the traditional SMS system consumers will have an interface similar to the online IM Messaging as the main texting app. I am excited to see this in 2020 as I'm already familiar with Facebook's service Messenger, the new feature will be released on Android OS first and Apple is still deciding whether or not to make it a permanent feature of phones running IPhone system, I feel this could be quite an interesting sight to see. Back when I had my first smartphone I had a hard time getting bigger files like videos and photos to go through and be sent to my contacts, this new tech will allow for files like that to send with no problem at all because of bigger storage space.
I hope with the new technology we will be able to do a lot more with our devices as far as letting us stay in the know and find out what's happening in the world and our own lives as well.
