It was 2001, late Summer in America seemed so normal and average until New York was struck at the Twin Towers with two airplanes causing both buildings of the World Trade Center to collapse to the ground. That was when I was 5 years old still in Elementary and I had to be picked up early that day because they shut all the schools down across the country, it was a devastating time in history for us but our uniformed frontline workers kept us all safe. Police officers went into the face of chaos to save as many loved ones as possible, I couldn’t imagine being the age I am now what it would feel like to watch the news on TV.

The monument in New York at the site of the Towers is a bucket list vacation I want to take, it would be awesome to see the plaque and all the first responders who worked like heroes going in to a smoke filled room to get people out and into safety. Remember they have a task everyday to keep the essential part of the community running during call outs to arrest people. Praying for this line of work is something that we should do often fire and police workers alike, it makes a difference knowing they have a hand on them in all they do.

Have a blessed day of remembrance this weekend and be safe.
