Local restaurant scenery has changed in Amarillo over the years and something has made it to the menu of one place that caters to the gluten sensitive people who are on this diet. If you have ever been to Firehouse Subs you know about a restaurant that has nothing but a selection of sub sandwiches with different types of meat choices and sides that complement each one. There are two locations in Amarillo and another one in Austin so the establishment has a lot of public exposure in the restaurant industry. I tried the gluten free sandwich and the bread has a texture of a conventional bakery bun that you can tell has ingredients of rice flour which gives it a unique flavor upon consuming.

It would be cool if the Gluten Free subs made their way to other locations of the same restaurant so more publicity could be made with this item. This would make consumers more aware of this being sold which allows more product to be bought turning a profit for the company. Over the years we have recently seen more places develop more options for the Gluten and Wheat sensitive crowd to provide a healthier option relating to food preferences.

Other items to complement these gluten free items include coleslaw, baked beans or other sides to make a full meal during your lunch break or dinner. This makes it easier if you're tired from a long day of work and do not want to go home and cook in your kitchen.

Good luck on what happens next for this restaurant.
