Spring Is Here and Here are Tornado Safety Tips to Keep in Mind

Spring time is here and that means we are about to be in the season of Severe Weather and Tornadoes. Here are some things that you want to know should the weather turn Severe in your area.

1. Have A Plan in Place in Case You Need to Take Shelter-Look around your house and make your bearings known. Take inventory of things like a Weather Radio and a flashlight with extra batteries.
   

2. Stay Tuned to Local Sources For Updates-Keep your TV and Radio tuned in to the local weather for updates so you know when your family is in the clear.

3. Make Sure Your Vehicles are parked in a safe place-If you have a garage park all of your vehicles in there to keep them safe from the outside elements. If you do not have a garage park them next to a tall tree or structure to shield them from the wind and flying debris.

4. Pack a light snack in a bag in case the event is long-Take an Apple or Banana with you and keep it in your kit. Sometimes a storm may move in a slow motion depending on wind speed.
