They have been out for at least a decade now, but the average price was insane, now that they are down in price today I was able to afford a smart TV for my family.

Let me start by saying TV is not the same as it was even a decade ago, I can remember the now obsolete analog cable before our provider upgraded our equipment to digital, in terms of picture I like digital better than analog because detail is refined to provide better imagery. When we got our boxes for the other rooms in my house I noticed a huge difference from analog, there was no grainy picture and everything on screen had HD Quality. April 2016 was the deadline before everything went exclusively digital on our cable system, I have enjoyed the beautiful picture as well as extended content to this day.

Well it's late 2019 and that was nearly four years ago, for an early Christmas present I bought my family a Vizio Smart TV with built in apps and UHD 4K picture quality, I paid around $300 on a Black Friday special which took the price down a lot especially with an employee discount. We have it mounted on our wall and it has apps like Netflix, Hulu and Prime Video which we get free content from Amazon with our membership, it gives us a lot of movies and TV shows for free without renting or buying anything. I enjoy it so far even though there are some features I'm still trying to figure out like the Echo feature that lets me use my Alexa, but I know I will figure out the voice command soon.

My family and I have talked about giving up our cable subscription, or "cord-cutting" to save money and going with a live TV streaming service like Hulu, I like the idea as long as my favorite programs are still accessible.

We are still debating on whether or not to do it so we will see where our next step is in the upcoming year of 2020.

Either way I am officially uptown with the latest devices out there.
