The Tri State Fair will not be taking place this year due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. The organization that holds this event says that safety of patrons is the number one priority and this would be too many people right now with social distancing guidelines still in place across the country. The WRCA Ranch Rodeo is still set to happen for the time being with another community meeting scheduled for August.

I hope they can find a way to still have the Rodeo this year while following current guidelines, the Fair has attracted many Panhandle residents for at least 40 years and while some business sponsors or features may have been changed one thing still remains and that is the community involvement to help out local charities. I never went to the fair when I was young but my favorite food on the square in the city where I grew up was always cotton candy and popcorn. If I find myself at the fairgrounds one day with a family of my own I just might grab me a small tub.

Let‘s hope this event can be brought back bigger and better than ever for 2021.
