So several years back I took my first trip to the Texas capital city of Austin where I got to see the state capital building up close and personal. This was my first visit so I was excited to get to check out the different places inside where things like law passings and courtroom trials happen. When I walked in I saw the center of the main lobby and the ceiling looked like a big circle with a star on the very top, walking around I saw the past and present governors and Congressional leaders who helped run Texas in the past from the beginning of the 1900s all the way up through the present day. What impressed me was the size of the courtrooms, by the looks of the number of seats you could have a group of at least 500 people inside voicing opinions on what should and shouldn’t be part of state law.

One thing I remember when I was touring this building was just how big this building really is especially with the amount of offices there are for staff members and judges alike. If you can sort of relate this to Texas History you had people like Lamar and Houston who built the foundation of the state in the 1800s when the war with Mexico was still going on. Austin has these treasures that are hidden inside the city as a whole.

Next time I go to Austin I may see if I can find more history about the Lone Star State. It would be great to see these landmarks so it’s definitely on my bucket list.
