Former Fox News anchor Shepherd Smith stepped down from the network a few years ago do to complications with management, he would continue to do side work with social media during his time away from TV news. CNBC has reached a deal where he will be able to hit the airwaves again with his own evening talk show. Smith says his topics will be “Just the News” with the facts on an event happening across America.

His previous position at Fox News was during the afternoon time slot but he likes the night shifts better saying that he got his start in media in that original spot. He hopes to bring in a decent number of viewers to his show on CNBC. I see him carrying this gig over a certainly decent number of years with his contract that will help to continue connecting with citizens with whom he can provide different views and help the public form an opinion on various subjects like issues surrounding the two Democratic and Republican parties to voting with a voice in the community while providing a little information about candidates.

I’ve watched him a time or two and he knows his craft in the broadcast industry. In the newscast side of things preparation is key and from watching I can tell you that Shepard definitely sits down and studies the scripts for the stories that he covers on air. Knowing this from my class I know behind the scenes he is conducting interviews with people in the coverage for the day.
Good luck to Shepherd in his new position, I hope he becomes popular in cable news ratings and comes out on top.
