Walmart Giving Employees Thanksgiving Off to Spend with Family

Walmart always strives to be there for customers especially during the holiday season which is always one of the busiest times in the retail industry. Employees have always had Christmas Day off but up until now that was the only holiday Walmart stores closed. With 2020 being the year of the unthinkable managers listened to associates’ ideas and now Thanksgiving Day can be added to the list of days off and store closure.

The hope is to make this change permanently and have two holidays where employees can reap the hard earned reward of making it to the end of the year. I am excited to have this day off since it’s one of my favorite holidays next to New Year’s Eve. My coworkers are pretty happy about the opportunity to spend for time with family and friends while eating turkey and ham.
