They are known for their hits “Don’t Stop Believin’ “Wheel in The Sky” and a good selection of other singles as well. This band with lead singer Steve Perry began in the 70s and span into most of the 80s decade, during their career Journey had numerous number ones as recognized by airplay and also the Billboard Music Charts. I have albums at my house that I am sure would be worth quite a bit of money given the popularity of this band especially the older ones released in early years, here is some history behind what made this band great.

In 1973 Steve Perry formed his band with the help of members of Santana and other people in the same genre group. The strongest success happened between the years of 1978 and 1983 when Perry was frontman, VH1 ranked Number 96 during it’s Greatest Artist countdown of the bands who have had great success over a time period of dedication to writing the songs they perform. I can see where this ranks personally since I listen to them often and hear what they sound like, of course being at a concert you would get a different feel but I never saw them in person, Journey has sold over 48 million albums to listeners according to the RIAA, a great amount of loyalty for artist sales during the three to four years of commercial popularity. The band is known to be involved with fans through their line of specialty items and merchandise like T-Shirts, Jackets and signed copies of CDs.

By the time the mid-1990s came around Journey took a hiatus from recording and touring that was very intermittent so the members could start regrouping on how to get more attention to their audience. I am a huge fan of the band as a whole as well as the single career of the lead with my favorite song being “Oh Sherrie” and more singles as well. I recently upgraded my Amazon app so I can find all of the albums that they have available to stream, and to this day I still hear them on my favorite radio station so I am hopeful that they never lose fans in changing times.

In these days the band that started as a team trying to gain popularity is still loved and for more information on future tour dates and times visit www.Journeymusic.com
