He is known by a lot of Country Music fans who lived in the decades of the 70s and 80s, his most famous song “I Walk the Line” received the number 1 spot on the airplay charts. Of course I am talking about Mr. Johnny Cash, the man behind the scenes with side work in the acting business starring in multiple movies over the course of several years. Both he and his wife Roseanne Cash recorded music of their own, I think a husband and wife with this common music making business is a great thing as they could both come up with song ideas.

Beginning in the 1980s Cash began to gain popularity with his music and fans which led him on a successful career up until the mid 90s, he then decided to get into the acting game and star in many movies and TV series. PBS most recently aired a documentary covering his life as an artist that spanned for 8 episodes over five nights, I didn’t watch any of it since I was hunting but it’s good that this artist got a documentary. Cash is known for crossing over into other genres besides Country like Blues, Folk and Bluegrass, among other types of music so he grew up with an influence on BB King and people similar to him which kept his audience engaged with what his next albums might sound like.

As time went on Cash decided to make his 2003 release his last one before his death in September of that year, “Hurt“ received airplay on radio stations around America and touched many people with very powerful lyrics about the mortality of a human flesh, but still finding a way to cope with this affliction and not that let you down. I saw the music video for this single and it definitely has graphics that get you spiritually and emotionally, I felt that as I watched. You can search for it on YouTube if you want to take a look at it, when I think of Johnny Cash I think of how many souls must have been influenced by his songs that he wrote in his 71 years on earth. I still listen to some of his music occasionally and it still makes me feel like he is right there living on in his albums, because of his multiple genre success he was inducted into the Country, Gospel and Rock n Roll Hall of Fames which is a rare occurrence for a music artist.

We will remember you Johnny and keep walking that line of life as you told us to!!
