Netflix Looking to Add Charge to Share Between Accounts

If you use the streaming service Netflix you may start to see new changes coming to the terms and conditions of accounts that you have across the platform. They are testing out a new feature that will allow the service to lock users out of accounts that have not been in use for at least a couple of weeks. I have a history of using this app for a trial period but as of right now it is deactivated until I decide to resubscribe. Users would need to pay a fee of $2.99 in order to unlock an account that haven’t been used in at least 9 months. This new approach will hopefully help the service with security measures by enhancing the overall safety between profiles and help to keep track of who is using someone’s account.

This also aids in the protection of children gaining access to mature content and provides a barrier for parents to make sure what they are watching is age appropriate. I can say that in recent years with the number of services that have popped up this feature that Netflix is trying out possibly could make it’s way to other platforms in some form. We have been told about how the internet is a place where information can be compromised and that is when things like spyware can hack into an online account.

Over time we have advanced in the technology that is used in the cybersecurity industry in ways that have allowed us to build upon modern security measures to keep our business and personal accounts safe even in the event of a crash that occurs because of a software conflict or power outage. I can see myself possibly using this should I go back to streaming this platform or similar apps from the same company. I wonder if the other apps like Hulu will hop on board with this feature in the near future.
