The world of the way we use our internet media has changed very rapidly just over the past decade or so ago, think about how you had only three channels and no remote control to change them. In the 60s you had to get up and turn a knob just to find a station, I of course was not part of that generation being a millennial who from first breath had the leisure of having buttons on a device to do that for me. Then along came the addition of networks FOX and what was then The WB later rebranded as The CW, I remember watching The WB network which mostly caters to the adult and teen audiences as does the current name. That was more than a decade ago and as I write this blog almost everyone with the exception of the few who still want a corded subscription have gone way to live and local on streaming, I remember my first time with YouTube on a desktop computer watching either music videos or looking for information on a how-to for projects or just watching a cute pet video. That was the mid-2000s and here comes 2020 where the same company can give you what is roughly essential to a cable lineup for a monthly fee, now the thing about this is you still treat this like cable by paying but what I mean by the times we live in is people want to become cord-cutters where they give up cable or Dish TV to save money and go with streaming.

I am on my second trial of this service since I opened up my Google account and overall for $49.99/month subscription fee you get all of the features with no hidden fees, I like that they give you both unlimited streaming and Cloud DVR right off the bat unlike other subscriptions out there that make you pay a fee for certain abilities. I will however say that you want a fast broadband connection if you don’t want the frustration of constant buffering when watching a channel, I recommend at least fiber optic speed for the most reliable viewing experience and no interruptions. The guide they give you lets you channel up or down and tells you show information on the bottom in the same look as actual Youtube, I found it easy to navigate through the lineup and find something to watch, if you want to go all the way to the beginning just hit back on your remote and it brings you to the top, once you are there go to the red bar title and hit to continue watching a program. The on Demand section was quite interesting to me especially the YouTube Red Originals they give you in your package, I would recommend YouTube TV for a friend if they want a budget friendly way to watch TV

Overall a great experience and I definitely will resubscribe to the service if it is a fit for my family.
