He is the voice that many radio stations can relate to and listeners can also remember. Wolfman Jack truly is an interesting and historical DJ keeping his craft and his on air bits interesting so his audience will keep him on their radio and call in requests or just chat about a topic he may be covering be it music, traffic reports or a soft news story that recently happened in his broadcast community. His big popular time took place in the 60s and 70s decades when disco and Solid Gold Music was hot on the Billboard Charts with many requests being for songs that just came out or are recent releases. I read where the most ear catching trait about Wolfman Jack is his grainy voice that gives a sort of different feel compared to other DJs you hear on the radio when using the Microphone. Like many his craft was gained through years and years of experience with doing air shifts for small college radio stations when he was taking classes for his degree.

In later years he would be Inducted into the Hall of Fame for most famous radio personality to commemorate his passion for the community and the music he played. His bits on air would range from birthday shoutouts to a This Day in History or an inspiration to get the day started on the right foot. He conducted interviews with different artists during his career ranging in the genres of mostly Rock and Roll and you would hear him talk about the story behind albums and songs with who was sitting in the studio.

I feel most inspired by him just listening to his air checks as you can find many of them on websites that keep a log of different broadcasting check from not just Wolfman himself but also other DJs across the country who have shows in multiple markets. When I want to listen I use Format Archive, I bet if you look at a radio history site it will have his background information and what this famous man did before stepping into the booth to broadcast and make people feel good on a daily basis. Being in this field myself I know what he had to learn to get to the bigger cities and have more exposure and even an Afternoon Drive time slot.

What a DJ can take from this man is always strive to make your dreams a reality and never give up hope. That is what makes an individual who they are.

Thanks for the great laughs Wolfman!!
