The Cranberries a band that was iconic during the 90s Grunge age has surpassed over a million views on Youtube with their video ”Zombies” that just came out a couple days ago.

This is the third single to have a sensation on the video site with director Samuel Bayer taking the lead for the music video. I have a favorite song by them, it’s a song called “Linger” and my music library has it on streaming. In the 20th Century the milestone of this many views is the sixth time this has happened since the year 2010, I hope to see more stories like this for artists in the genre of Grunge and maybe another icon will have some light shedded on the art of talent.

The video goes between black and white and color shots of the crew residing on the city streets in a place called Belfast Ireland, showing depictions of icons and warriors who ran various groups and organizations to help stop the spread of a war between a country that is not considered one of their allies. The images that comprise this video are primarily backdrops of murals that show the background of the street and the theme of preliminary organizations, you can spot Delores O’ Riordan who is part of the preliminary movement dancing in front of a giant white cross. I have not viewed it yet but that theme just happens to make me wonder if the depiction of a cross symbolizes hope for the people of Ireland and that hope is on the way for this country, I find it interesting that it might be the directors way of sending viewers feel good messages during trying times.
